i saw a few beautiful photos of casey that touched me. my tears rolled down like a roaring cascade. sometimes, i think i’m made of tears.
i woke up to inboxes filled with lovely emails, both work and non-work related. now i’m sitting here in my favourite corner of the room, rejoicing in the replying, in the anticipation of more mails. i never imagined i would have the luxury of such a life. where work is pleasure, and workplace is my small round dining table with latte at my feet and freshly brewed coffee next to me.
the neighbours walked bye and said hi. latte gave them a pawsome hello, then sat by the door looking out at our greens. i secretly think he’s like me - we can both spend hours building dreams, watching greens, then falling asleep.
these few days, we’ve been talking and imagining what life would be like in a small suburban town. and i think about my dream bed-and-breakfast business with a little home shopping room with everything pretty. there will be a wardrobe that smells just a little musty. it’s the kind of musty that brings to mind vintage floral frocks and large hats rimmed with rainbow-coloured satiny bows. and in the corner of the brightly-lit room, there will be a chest jangling with charms, coins and letters golden with age. and shelves filled with books (which i’ll probably not bear to sell), tables filled with mismatched tea sets (again, how can i bear to let them go?), sofas covered with soft throws, and odd items too quirky to be categorised. maybe i’ll have a few handmade postcards, so their loved ones back home know just how wonderful a holiday they’re having in our humble b&b.
so many dreams, so little time.
fridays still work their magic on me.
happy february 29. it’s just another day, but make it good, won’t you?
i think you’ll like tuscany. or the south of france.
you know what? I’ve dreamt of having my own b&b too. And yes, i’ll have lots of mismatched tea cups! in fact, if they are chipped, they’ll become little herb pots! and i’ll make sure i get a good oven so i can sell freshly made lemon drizzle sponge cakes and mini cupcakes. hmm. i think i can make you my dream business partner.
Hey Mrs Auyong, would you permit me to stir up those dreams a little? Here’s the most magnificent B&B we stayed at over in Tassie. The lady themed out two rooms, one French, one English. She even made a play out of the history of the previous owner!
It’s absolutely lovely. (I’ve pictures of her two dogs in her sprawling garden.)
:: Pupsik pouch carrier - carnival: warm blue and caramel brown - almost edible! ::
:: Bebe Au Lait nursing cover - maybe I can use my country apron! ::
