winter is here March 13, 2008

it’s wintry cold here in my little ever-summery part of the world. the rain is pretty, but there’s only so much beauty i can see. it doesn’t help that the huddy is always worried when i step out of the house because the roads are slippery, and his wifey is, well, really quite clumsy. just the other day, i watched my size-four feet dip into a puddle of rainwater. kind of amusing really, since two seconds before, my brain was just telling my feet to go the other way. i’m just a little s-l-o-w.

i could really do with a hot fresh brew, you know. but for the baby, i’m staying away from caffeine until i can no longer take it. a nicely-warm loaf of bread with light butter and berry jam would be nice too. maybe tonight, i’ll put on the apron and bake a good plain loaf for breakfast tomorrow. it’s all about food and hugs these days.

outside, some small dog yelps and the rest of the neighbourhood dogs chime in. latte just looks out and goes back to sleep. he is quite loving his new blanky. and there is nothing i love more than waking up to a beaming latte boy eager to give me a good morning hug. our precious little one. i know this for sure - he’ll be the bestest big brother to auyong baby.
